Tomochin’s Letter to Acchan

During Acchan’s last birthday show in AKB theatre, it came as a surprise to me that Tomochin’s letter to her was read. That was Acchan’s final birthday show as an AKB member and I think the fact that tomo’s letter was chosen was really significant. It’s a letter full of love. Again, retranslated from the Chinese forums:

To Atsuko,

Happy 21st Birthday! So sorry for not being able to make it to the theatre for Acchan’s last birthday celebration together. Actually, I really wanted to push the cake out for Atsuko, but I had a bad feeling about it so let’s forget about it (laughs).

Enough with the jokes, the first time I had a conversation with Atsuko was 4 days after auditions. We took the same transport after dance practice ended, and Acchan who seemed very shy approached me and asked ‘How should I address you?’, I remember this till now. Soon, we started performing in the theatre. We were junior high students then when we encountered many painful experiences; crying together on the way home, eating sushi that staff-san bought and telling each other ‘Let’s work hard for tomorrow too’. Memories with Atsuko are uncountable.

After this, 7 years have passed, and we have all became adults. Tomo turned 21 last week too. It was unimaginable when we were 14 that we can still be celebrating our birthdays together at 21.To Tomo, the Atsuko that is basically around everyday is an irreplaceable presence. When I first heard that Atsuko is going to graduate, compared to sadness, Tomo had a stronger emotion that is hoping that you will work hard and move forward positively. This has not changed till now.

But recently, Atsuko was not present in some shootings. The reality that Acchan is going further and further away from AKB hit me, and to be honest, I felt very lonely. And so, there is a me that is not getting used to an AKB without Atsuko. I feel that if it’s Atsuko, your dreams can definitely be fulfilled. Regardless of anything, Tomo is always Atsuko’s nakama (comrade/companion/partner). If anything upsetting ever happens again, please discuss with me, whenever & whatever it is. And then, let’s gather those that turned 21 and have a celebration together! Today, I really congratulate you!

P.S The letter which Atsuko wrote for Tomo’s birthday last year is still treasured and well-kept yo.

Samantha Silva X Tomochin

After searching high and low and trying all sorts of keywords, I finally managed to find the new necklaces sold under Samantha Thavasa’s sub brand, Samantha Silva.

According to the official site, the small series is ‘Samantha Silva Itano Tomomi Collaboration Initial Necklace’ and has a total of 5 alphabets, A, M, R, S & T. There is no explanation as to why these few alphabets (probably coz more Japanese girls’ names start with those alphabets? Just guessing.)

I first saw this collaboration under Tomochin’s special page here on Samantha Thavasa’s official webpage. (Do check the page out if you have not seen it, I always find that ST does such an amazing job featuring tomochin)

Clone PV!

It’s a little unusual but the PV of  Tomochin’s B side track ‘Clone’ (also the first song of the single to appear in CM) has been released this morning. You can see the awesome, flawless, fierce Tomochin in black in the youtube video below. Not too sure how long this video will last but I think the previous one I found did not last for more than 4 hours lol.

 

I really like how Tomochin’s single tracks are usually set really apart from AKB48 and the rest of the sub-units of the massive group. And I have to admit that I was not too pleased with this track when I first heard it on E-mobile’s CM and was really worried that it might be the main track, but after just watching once of the PV, it has already grown on me. Maybe the song was not that bad after all, maybe the PV was well taken, maybe it’s just Tomochin I am talking about here. *winks*

3rd Single: 10年后の君へ

Finally more news on Tomochin’s latest single! We already knew that ‘Clone’ (CM track for E-mobile) and ‘always I need you’ (CM track for body cooler) will be a track of her new single releasing on 25th April, and now we finally have a name for the single and the main track!

 

10Nen Go no Kimi E or loosely translated to ‘To you of 10 years later’ is supposedly a ballad about unrequited love. I cannot wait to hear how this sad ballad will sound like and if it will turn out like Fui Ni. The awesome cover is below:

 

More pictures of this same photoshoot have been leaked and they are without text. I must say I really love this series of photos and I am interested to know which of the other pictures will be selected for Type B & Theatre edition and so on.

 

Apparantly, our talented girl is also the lyricist for one of her tracks ‘lose-lose’ which she has revealed on the her own Google+ account.

 

Stop waiting and start buying~~~

Bubbleflop Endorsement & Thoughts on Graduation

Itano Tomomi (20), of popular idol group AKB48, attended Bubbleflop’s product launch press conference in Tokyo on the 26th. With regards to Maeda Atsuko’s graduation announcement, Itano revealed that “Me too, harbor dreams beyond AKB. Although parting is difficult, I still want to cheer for her dreams. One day, me too, will graduate from AKB to fulfill my own dreams.”

Since the formation of the group in 2005, Itano has since walked a long way with Maeda as a 1st Gen Team A member. “Acchan had discussed this with me previously when we met up for a meal”. “If my original dreams can be fulfilled, juniors can also advance towards their own dreams; I want to create this road”, she had said it with anticipation. Itano accepted Maeda’s determined “answer that she tried so hard to put together” and sincerely gives her support, “I hope Acchan’s dreams can all be fulfilled”.

Other than Maeda’s graduation announcement during the Arena concert, earnestly anticipated Tokyo Dome concert, along with the 4th Senbatsu Sousenkyo (6th June) was also announced. When asked about the General Election, Itano enthusiastically smiled and replied “Because it is the fourth time already, I would like to enjoy myself”.

Starting from the 26th, Itano will be the image character for the beach sandals brand which has started to sell officially in Japan. [Tomo, Moderu (Model)], is a series that will be produced by Itano, who has been involved in the planning and designing, will start to go on racks this mid June. “I had a really good time. Although I was often troubling over colours and stuff, I followed the theme of adding plus points for people who are wearing it and decided to go with white”, she also excitedly mentions “I want to quickly wear beach sandals for a walk along the beach.”

Third Single!

If you have been following Aki-P’s Google+ account closely (which I highly recommend you to, for translated post add here), since his first surprise find of a nice tune for tomochin’s new single, he has finally say that he is starting to write the lyrics for it. And his update this afternoon went:

I listened to the sound source of Itano’s recording , and since the falsetto was beautiful ,
I want a song that is made use of high notes .
Yoshimasa！
Yoshimasa and Jyunji Takada are close friends .
This is a trivia .

I must say that I am both excited and worried for tomochin at the same time. I will loveee to hear beautiful falsettos from tomochin but then again I fear it will pressurize her so much during live performances in music programmes when she start promoting her single. And unofficial sources revealed that the new single will be released on the 25th of April, 2 months from now. Be ready for any changes since it is yet announced on any official channels though.

I love tomochin’s endorsement of Goo and all it’s related products & website. There have been a recent new release of tomochin’s 7 styles in a bigger resolution on it’s facebook page. I am not too sure the exact usage of these pictures since they are not desktop wallpaper friendly either… but who cares right? Click for bigger reso and save away~

2011 Fast-rising Blogs Ranking

I am not too sure if that is the right name to call this rank but basically it refers to the top 10 Ameblo blogs which received the greatest increment in views and hits in 2011. Among the top 10, for AKB have Yuko at number 1, Acchan at number 3, Sasshi at number 4 and tomochin at number 7. I am personally happy for tomochin to be ranked 7th despite her not updating as frequently as the other members. I am pretty sure her blog is going to have even more daily views if she updates more often with more text and more personal and member photos, but this is my pace tomo for you, lol.

Covergirl for KETCHUP

Earlier in January, tomochin made a trip to Hong Kong for the opening of Samantha Thavasa as a solo member. During her short one and a half day’s stay in Hong Kong, it was reported that she had a photoshoot and now, finally, the magazine is released! I am not too sure if tomochin is the first AKB member to grace the cover of a magazine outside Japan but this sure is good news to me.

Tomochin is the covergirl for KETCHUP magazine and it will be the first time that the magazine will have a double cover, meaning 2 different versions of covers will be available for sale. Not too impressed with the photographer for some of the shots but I absolutely adore the white cover and the one which tomochin was in a light purple flower embellished dress. Choose your favourite Goo-net Tomo!

Fans of tomochin should be familiar with Goo now, having created some of the best tomochin CMs, released the start of 2012. A new short CM has been added to the list and it features Soccer and Spy Girl.

As part of the marketing campaign, fans are encouraged to vote their favourite character (out of the 7 different styles including the shop keeper version) on Goo-net’s facebook page. All 7 ‘characters’ are featured on this campaign’s official youtube channel through 7 different videos, each featuring making of  scenes and a short interview of tomochin on her opinions of the outfits.

My favourite is this:

A press conference was held on the 31st Jan and tomochin appeared in a long dress with goddess wavy hair *beams*. Her favourite outfit out of all was the Spy Girl (just as I suspected). When asked about the recent resignation of 1st gen member Natsumi Hirajima of Team B and 3rd gen member Rumi Yonezawa of Team K, she responded that it was very unfortunate that such things should happen but as fellow members for such a long time, she will continue to support them and they will still be good friends.
